Newton Boykin was born in Camden, South Carolina in 1953. He started coming to Edisto every year sinnce he was born. His grandparents, parents, and relatives have all been coming here since the early twenties. Newton made Edisto his permanent residence when he moved here in 1978 as shrimper on the "Sea Prowler".
